The UK Special Programme is open for anyone already being assessed by Coram IAC or returning to adopt again. The reason for this is that our main focus is intercountry adoption and many other adoption charities already offer UK programmes across the country. However, our UK Special Programme is an important part of Coram IAC and we are proud to have placed over 65 children for adoption since 2012. We specialise in helping to find families for children who might wait the longest in the UK and this includes children of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, sibling groups, older children and children with additional needs.
In 2020 Coram IAC partnered with other UK adoption agencies and local authorities to launch the #YouCanAdopt campaign. Learn more about the work via the You Can Adopt website and watch our short film here.
If you are only thinking about adopting in the UK for now and are not already connected to Coram IAC, details of a local adoption charity can be found via CVAA www.cvaa.org.uk/find-your-nearest-agency or www.youcanadopt.co.uk where you can also find local authority adoption services and lots more information about adopting in the UK, including short films and podcasts.
